The Art & Science of Couples Therapy: How to be an Eclectic and Effective Couples Therapist

After the publication of her book “Couple’s Therapy Workbook: 30 Conversations To Re-Connect Relationships,” Kathleen began speaking nationally to other Clinicians about her mission as a Marriage and Family Therapist and her therapeutic process.    She presents her overall process from the development of a healthy, safe therapeutic relationship, information gathering about personal and relationship history, identification of relationship dynamics, creating change, and validating and solidifying change. Kathleen utilizes the model she created, “Connection Authenticity Vulnerability Therapy,” as well as empirically-based research, and case examples to share her philosophy, structure and passion for working with couples.  She emphasizes her belief that therapy is not “one-size fits all,” and encourages clinicians to balance the use of a variety of models and interventions with his or her own intuition.  Her teaching style is often described as “non-judgmental, validating and encouraging!”
